Short version: Squarespace's built-in analytics shows you basic visitor counts but doesn't tell you which Instagram post drove the spike or explain what bounce rate means in plain English. Small Business Analytics does both. Install takes 2 minutes via Squarespace's Code Injection feature (Core/Business/Commerce plans). $9/month, 14-day free trial.
Squarespace Analytics is fine for the basics — visitors, traffic sources, top pages — but small business owners hit limits fast:
Start your free trial at app.smallbusinessanalytics.io. Copy the one-line tracking snippet from the setup screen.
Log into Squarespace and open your website dashboard (click the pencil icon if you manage multiple sites). Then click the gear icon (Settings) in the left sidebar.
Scroll down in Settings until you see Advanced — click it. Then click Code Injection.
Click inside the Header field (the first text box) and paste your SBA snippet:
<script src="https://app.smallbusinessanalytics.io/tracker.js?tid=YOUR_ID" async></script>
Click Save in the top left corner. Changes go live immediately — no publish step needed.
Go back to SBA's setup screen and click Run a test visit. We'll visit your site, confirm the tracker is installed, and seed your dashboard. If something's wrong, Alfred (AI assistant on the right side of the setup screen) walks you through fixing it.
14-day free trial. 2-minute install. Cancel anytime. Alfred AI included on Pro.
